2013 planting is done. I put in four varieties of peppers, five varieties of tomatoes, two varieties of basil, rosemary, sage, parsley, peas, beans, spinach, lettuce variety, 18 strawberry plants, some flower varieties, onion sets, broccoli and swiss chard.
Hopefully there will be rain this summer to keep them live and healthy.
Was wondering if you could use this for a blog note??? Enjoy reading how you are making out up there in the Northern areas. ~F
Shed-ing Society
Working on my white fluorescent tan
I wonder about traveling in a car or van
This stuffy pressed shirt that I have to wear
Is there a better place than this out there?
Clean shaven polite and always on time
Always earning those nickels and dimes
The same routine the same office space
I wish I had land and my very own place
To live in a tiny home even if just a shed
To leave society; there’s nothing to dread
Somewhere way off to freely wonder
Where nature I could sit and all day ponder
To do my own thing and set my own rules
To cast away my pearls or precious jewels
To live free on the land and make a plan
To find myself and know who I really am.

When I read your post “Hopefully there will be rain this summer” I couldn’t help but think you have no mulch down to prevent evaporation. I would strongly suggest watching http://vimeo.com/28055108 to get some idea of what mulch can do. (FYI: The video stresses some religion info BUT also has some really useful mulching information)
You are planting early, Laura! I am waiting a little longer… 5 varieties of tomato, 1 eggplant, chard, peas, carrots, beets & cucumber! Onions too, and purple beans… soon.
